Here are some random pictures of "tire art". You would be astounded to see not only tire art, but "plastic bottle art". Talk about recycling....
and evidence of an early spring day ...
and finally a very creative but effective furnitue caster to keep our chairs from indenting our linoleum floors. And I am not telling you where the red casters come from in the hopes that someone reads my blog and will comment since I haven't a single comment yet. I know you are looking at the blog, but I don't know what you think....
Hi Elder and Sister Cannon, You probably didn't expect a comment from me, but I thought I would say that missionary work must be the same all over. (same excuses etc). However, here in Nova Scotia they use old tennis balls as castors for the chair legs.
ReplyDeleteWe have had a few nice experiences lately. Two couples came to the Temple for the first time recently. One spouse from each couple joined the church since we came and it was wonderful to see them in the temple. They looked so happy.
So just hang in there.

That appears to be a soda bottle lid if I'm not mistaken. A pinterest idea?
ReplyDeleteI notice our chairs were cutting into our cheap linoleum and I thought about buying casters? but since I drink a lot of yogurt I noticed the lids worked perfectly. And 16 yogurts later we had enough for each of our 4 chairs. It's really funny when we move the chairs and the lids stay on the floor.
DeleteI don't think I will post it on Pinterest, it's a Ukraine thing
Hi Missionaries :)
ReplyDeleteI hear you about blogging. I hardly ever get posts on my blog. Well, since our daughter Sandra has done something similar (family website) for several years to our German family and friends I kind of knew it would be that way. She had wondered if anyone even looked at her posts. Well, she had many confirmations and thanks from everybody, saying that they much appreciate her posts and are always eager to read the new stories, but most of them don't have the time or energy - or admit they're too lazy - to write something back. She is satisfied knowing that she does make a difference. So it is with your posts here. I'm sure everyone is excited to read all your experiences even if they don't write back. I always get excited about missionary stories :) So keep posting because we are all uplifted by your experiences.
On another note: Carol Young is battling breast cancer and we go to the temple with her (three couples) about once a month. She is a tough lady taking everything as it comes, but I know she's afraid of chemo treatments that are most likely ahead of her. We all pray for her often. Please keep her in your prayers as well. I'm thinking maybe there is a bit more power in a missionary prayer :)?
And my body is giving me some trouble also but not of such severe nature. My injury 3 years ago (the break in my pelvis) had healed but not as properly as I had hoped. I am still in pain every day. So I went back to my chiropractor to find out what was going on. There is a lot of scar tissue that has to be broken down and then it can heal properly. Every treatment comes with excruciating pain but I know I have to get through this if I want to get better. I'm a whimp when it comes to pain but there is no other way around it.
Other than that things are ok. We were blessed with our first grandbaby. In May Barry's son had a little daughter. How precious she is! We had them over yesterday for Father's Day and I got to hold her for quite some time. That satisfied my longing for babies that I had for several years now. So, life is good ! Smiles, Jenny
