Tomorrow, January 27 we leave for the Ukraine. We are excited and full of anticipation to serve the Lord. We know we are in good hands.
It's difficult to leave our beautiful grandchildren, but as we see the amazing number of young missionaries here and interact with them, we know that our example will encourage them to serve missions like grandma and grandpa.
These aren't all, but they are our "UTAH" grandchildren so they are more readily photographed with us.
Now for those who haven't served a senior mission, let me tell this sweet story. Kelsie is 4 years old and when her momma said "grandma and grandpa will be gone a long time on their mission" her response was "It makes me happy, and it makes Jesus happy".
No wonder we are to become like little children, they are the ones with perfect faith.
We encourage all within our viewership and beyond to put the Lord before your love for your grandchildren, it is a peice of heaven on earth

Best wishes. Anne and I are in the 15th month of a mission in Nova Scotia. We often think of the good times in China. I hope that you have a good trip to you mission and are blessed with success.
