We are leaving on a jet plane

Tomorrow, January 27 we leave for the Ukraine.   We are excited and full of anticipation to serve the Lord.   We know we are in good hands.

It's difficult to leave our beautiful grandchildren, but as we see the amazing number of young missionaries here and interact with them, we know that our example will encourage them to serve missions like grandma and grandpa.

These aren't all, but they are our "UTAH" grandchildren so they are more readily photographed with us.

Now for those who haven't served a senior mission, let me tell this sweet story.   Kelsie is 4 years old and when her momma said "grandma and grandpa will be gone a long time on their mission" her response was  "It makes me happy, and it makes Jesus happy".

No wonder we are to become like little children, they are the ones with perfect faith.

We encourage all within our viewership and beyond to put the Lord before your love for your grandchildren, it is a peice of heaven on earth

Young missionaries in the laundry facility

I decided to do a load of laundry.....  (they have facilities on campus) so I took my Kindle to read since I thought I would be alone.  That lasted about 50 seconds.

Six young missionaries came over to talk with me for the whole time.  They were so excited to talk to someone who cared about them.   I of course found out most were going to Colorado Springs, and one to Africa.  One was a twin and most were the oldest child setting examples.   They were so much fun, when the washing machine didn't work, they quietly prayed to have it work and it did.   They sang hymns, chinned themselves on the overhead bar and generally goofed off as much as you can in a suit and tie.  They were just fun and excited as they shared various opinions with me, I felt like a mom again.

                                           Young missionaries are amazing!!!!

Embarking on the Lord's errand

specifically for Ukraine.

There were some items that I couldn't manage well on the previous blog, so I began a new one.

Our visa's didn't come last week, so we are currently at the MTC, attempting to keep our spiritual focus and use our time to study the language instead of other distractions.

The MTC is a wonderful atmosphere, but as all good things becomes routine. Study, eat, study eat.
